Institution's Innovation Council

Overview

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC), Government of India, established to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in higher educational institutions. The primary objective of the IIC Cell is to inspire and nurture young minds to develop innovative ideas and transform them into practical solutions or prototypes. By creating a supportive innovation ecosystem within the campus, the council encourages students and faculty to think creatively, engage in problem-solving, and explore entrepreneurial opportunities that contribute to societal and economic development. The IIC Cell at Global Institute of Management Sciences (GIMS) organizes a variety of activities such as workshops, seminars, idea competitions, hackathons, and interactions with industry experts and entrepreneurs. These initiatives provide students with exposure to innovation, intellectual property rights (IPR), startup development, and industry collaboration. Through these efforts, the cell aims to cultivate entrepreneurial skills, promote a startup culture, and prepare students to become innovative leaders capable of addressing real-world challenges.
